It uses a bed of nails to pierce wire insulation. The material used is clip nickel silver (except where noted) hardware brass. The current rating is 5A. It is sold according to the configuration of its suffixes. It acts like a connector. The large versions of these clips, called automotive clips or battery clamps, are made of solid copper.
