| Metcal PTC Tweezer Solder Tips / Soldering Tips / Tweezer Tip Cartridges. PTC-tweezer-tip cartridges are the standard tweezer-tip range for the Metcal CV-5200, CV-500, MX-500, MX-5000 and MX-5200 series soldering systems. All cartridges are available in 3 temperature ranges. 700-series nominally 390 ˚C. 800-series nominally 430 ˚C. 900-series nominally 470 ˚C. The temperature/series is designated by the by the first digit in the numerical part of the part number: 700-series will be PTC-7xx. 800-series will be PTC-8xx. 900-series will be PTC-9xx. Metcal recommends the 700-series for many general applications. 800/900-series for high temperature and thermally demanding applications. Can be used with leaded and lead-free solder. The Metcal “;SmartHeat®-Technology“; will adjust delivered power during soldering to suit the application. 700 = FR4/Fibre Glass, for most standard applications.
