Due to the natural wood, resin may seep out at higher temperatures. This is a normal process that in no way damages the wood or shortens the service life. Any resin that is excreted can be carefully scratched off, or be wiped off with a little turpentine on a cloth. ThermoWood® is pine or spruce wood that has been subject to heat treatment without the use of chemical substances. The result is a wooden product that retains its natural beauty and is significantly more hardwearing and durable. Thermal modification also provides protection from the effects of weather, fungal infestation, rot and mould. After treatment, the wood exhibits no resin bleed, and takes on a warm brown colour that emphasises its natural aesthetics. It does not require any surface treatment and develops a beautiful silver grey patina over time, which does not impair its technical properties. If required, the wood can be oiled, painted or stained. As wood is a natural material, cracks or splits may develop. ThermoWood® makes an impression with its long service life and is 100% recyclable. It comes from renewable Nordic forests that are managed in accordance with the strict criteria specified by the FSC certification.
