Due to the natural wood, resin may seep out at higher temperatures. This is a normal process that in no way damages the wood or shortens the service life. Any resin that is excreted can be carefully scratched off, or be wiped off with a little turpentine on a cloth. Thermal modification also provides protection from the effects of weather, fungal infestation, rot and mould. After treatment, the wood exhibits no resin bleed, and takes on a warm brown colour that emphasises its natural aesthetics. It does not require any surface treatment and develops a beautiful silver grey patina over time, which does not impair its technical properties. If required, the wood can be oiled, painted or stained. As wood is a natural material, cracks or splits may develop. ThermoWood® makes an impression with its long service life and is 100% recyclable. It comes from renewable Nordic forests that are managed in accordance with the strict criteria specified by the FSC® certification.
