Some common pet ‘enemies’ in the home and garden are: boxwood, which can give dogs a stomach upset, heart failure and dermatitis; daffodil bulbs, which bring on nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea, and which can be fatal; and sweet peas, which can cause tremors, seizures and lethargy. Other plants to beware of are hyacinths, delphiniums, poppies, sweet peas, tulips and Christmas favourites, mistletoe and poinsettia.
