There are differences in quality in many types of material, these also include the polyurethane used in technical hoses. NORRES uses a special ester- and polyurethane mix in many of its hoses: NORRES Pre-PUR. This combination of hard and soft Pre-PUR segments exhibits superior properties compared to many other plastic, rubber and ‘simple’ polyurethane versions and forms ‘Bockcopolymere’.

Resistance:
NORRES Pre-PUR materials include special stabilisers and lead to significantly better resistance and longer service life than is possible when using many of the other products on the market. Abrasion resistance:
NORRES Pre-PUR boasts extremely high resistance to abrasion which, in accordance with standard measurements, is up to 2.5-5 times better than many rubber materials and up to 3-4 times higher than many soft PVC versions. The Pre-PUR hard segments are the basis of this extremely high mechanical strength, while the Pre-PUR soft segments simultaneously provide extreme flexibility and dynamic load capacity.

Suitable for the food and pharmaceutical industries:
Abrasion resistant suction hoses and transport hoses

The food and pharmaceutical industries are subject to strict rules and licenses apply when it comes to using the right hoses. NORRES hoses meet the approval criteria of the EC Directive 2002/72/EC including amendment 975/2009 and regulation no. 10/2011, and many NORRES hoses also meet the FDA’s requirements for the US market. The polyurethane used is safe for use on food in accordance with FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 and 178.2010. NORRES hoses with this sign possess national or international license(s), certificates or conformities that are required for use in the food industry.

Flame-retardant hoses:
Hoses for the woodworking industry

In specific industry clusters such as the timber industry, there are demanding regulations on low flammability for the use of hoses. Hoses used in this field must possess one or many national/international licenses. They are classified as either flame retardant or self-extinguishing and/or fall below certain fire velocities. NORRES manufactures a range of hoses which are marked with the flame retardant icon.

High temperature hoses:
Hot air hoses, high temperature hoses (-200 .. +1.100°C)

Continuous operating temperatures of 125°C can be reached quickly in hoses in the plastics industry, in printing presses or compressors. NORRES’s premium polyurethane Pre-PUR® is a major development in the field of polyurethane and is more resistant to heat and ageing than other materials. NORRES cross-links the plastic in an innovative process and produces a material which has 40% better mechanical strength when exposed to heat NORRES hoses with the HT-PUR sign can withstand continuous operational temperatures of 125°C and short-term temperatures of up to 150°C .
